summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
The text amendments propose to modify Chapter 153 Short Term Rentals. The text amendments create new standards for Short Term Rental renewals, provides additional grounds to deny and/or revoke applications, and streamlines the enforcement process for violations involving short term rentals. The amendments also include some housekeeping modifications for clarity and consistency.
While well-maintained, well-monitored short-term rentals can coexist harmoniously with their long-term neighbors, conflicts do occasionally arise. The goal of the amendments is to provide the city with additional tools to more swiftly and consistently deal with those properties that have reoccurring issues (most commonly with noise, trash and parking).
