Summary Explanation/Background:
The Housing Authority of Pompano Beach is requesting the City of Pompano Beach’s support for the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTC), authorized under Section 212.08(5)(p), Florida Statutes, in connection with the Blanche Ely Estates development.
The Housing Authority has a planned development to build 36 single-family homes for sale on its Blanche Ely property. The CCTC program is a vital tool for encouraging private sector investment in community-based projects that serve low to moderate-income populations. Our Blanche Ely Estates initiative aligns with the goals of this program by promoting affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization in the heart of Pompano Beach.
To formalize this support, the Housing Authority is seeking the adoption of a resolution by the City Commission that endorses the CCTC program as it relates to Blanche Ely Estates and confirms that our Blanche Ely Estates project aligns with the consolidated plan of the City of Pompano Beach.
The Housing Authority of Pompano Beach is not requesting any financial commitment from the City at this time. Their sole request is for the adoption of the attached Resolution. This resolution is necessary to support their application for the CCTC program and does not obligate the City to provide funding or other resources. It simply confirms that our Blanche Ely Estate project aligns with the consolidated plan for the City of Pompano Beach.
Additionally, Housing Authority intends to utilize the funds for the development of the Blanche Ely Estates single-family homes project.
