Summary:

Zoning Map:

As per Zoning Code section 155.1401, the City is required to adopt and maintain an Official Zoning Map, kept on file in the Department of Development Services, further identified with the signatures of the Mayor attested by the City Clerk.  The City Commission last certified the Official Zoning Map on May 10, 2011, by Ordinance 2011-44.  There have been several amendments to the official zoning map since that date, and the map and data has been maintained and updated regularly by Staff.

The Zoning Map is posted online on the city’s website and attached to this report for reference.  The updated zoning data is sent quarterly to the Broward County Property Appraiser’s website, and thus available to be viewed online as an interactive format.  Additionally, Staff has made the data available online using an application called “Camino,” where the public may search for a property & receive not only the zoning district, but also additional use and development standards.

The table that keeps records of the amendments on the static map is nearly full, and Staff is presenting the map to the Planning & Zoning Board & City Commission to re-certify the map, in order to clear the table of amendments.

Land Use Map:

As per City Code of Ordinances section 154.03, the City is required to adopt and maintain an Official Land Use Map, kept on file in the Department of Development Services, further identified with the signatures of the Mayor attested by the City Clerk.  The City Commission last certified the Official Land Use Map on May 10, 2011, by Ordinance 2011-43.  There have been several amendments to the official land use map since that date, and the map and data has been maintained and updated regularly by Staff.

The Future Land Use Map is posted online on the city’s website and attached to this report for reference.  Additionally, Staff has made the data available online using an application called “Camino,” where the public may search for a property & receive not only the land use code, but also a link to the comprehensive plan, and relevant zoning information.

The table that keeps records of the amendments on the static Zoning map is nearly full.  While the table that keeps records of the amendments on the static Land Use map is not quite full, since the Zoning Map is being re-certified, Staff is electing to present the Future Land Use map to the Planning & Zoning Board & City Commission to re-certify both maps.

Staff Conditions:

Staff is seeking approval to re-certify the City of Pompano Beach Official Zoning Map & Land Use Map, in order to update the records with the City Clerk’s office.
