Summary Explanation/Background:
This is a City Commission’s appointment.
This is the only application on file that meets one of the professions required to serve on this Board;
however, the applicant resides in another City. The vacant position is for a Real Estate Property Manager.
The Board must be comprised of an Engineer, Architect, General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Attorney, Plumbing Contractor, Real Estate Appraiser, Real Estate Property Manager and, a Citizen with experience and background in social problems. All of the professional aforementioned persons must be currently registered and licensed by the State of Florida. All members on the Pompano Beach Board should be residents of the City of Pompano Beach, unless the Board is unable to obtain a qualified resident from the City- whereupon the Commission by majority vote may appoint a non-resident.
It is clear that the nominees for positions on the Unsafe Structures Board should only be those that meet the specified occupations. The only variable may be resident/non-resident.
