summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

This agenda item is requesting to extend the existing Parking License Agreement for the property located at 3300 S.E. 1st Street in Pompano Beach, Broward County Appraiser Folio 4943 06 06 0740 for an additional one-year period. The original agreement was effective on January 16th, 2020. There are no changes in the terms or conditions from the original agreement approved by the City Commission. During the first term of this agreement the property was significantly under-utilized primarily due to COVID 19. We expect greater demand from the general public for this property as further retail comes online in the area over the next few months. This lot will also be used as a park and ride location for our upcoming Micro Transit service. The License Fee paid to Licensor shall remain at forty percent (40%) of gross revenue generated on this property excluding federal, state and local or similar taxes. There have been no permanent improvements to this lot and payment from the parking public will be accomplished via our current parking app provider Passport Parking with an appropriate number of clearly visible signs at the entrance to the parking lot. Once the City Commission approves the item, a request will be made to Development Services to administratively approve the temporary zoning permit for use of the lot for parking.

Origin of request for this action: City Manager’s Office

Fiscal impact and source of funding: N/A
