summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
The recommended FY 2027 budget includes 20 new positions, reclassifications, retitles, or pay-grade changes. Funding for these changes is included in the budget and supports the City’s ongoing commitment to competitive compensation and workforce retention. Please see Exhibit A.
Combined estimated fiscal impact: $94,689
NEW POSITION TITLES:
Each of the six new position titles results in a reclassification from a position title that will still exist. These title changes will not increase the City’s total authorized position count.
Estimated fiscal impact: $62,181
RECLASSIFIED POSITIONS:
Six positions are recommended for reclassification with title and pay grade changes.
Estimated fiscal impact: $69,679
RETITLED POSITIONS:
Eight positions recommended for retitle with no pay grade changes.
The negative fiscal impact on the retitled positions is due to the vacant Utilities Infrastructure Systems Manager and the lower budgeted replacement rate.
Estimated fiscal impact: -$37,171
Approval will maintain a competitive, equitable workforce and keep classifications aligned with community needs and budget priorities.
Origin of request for this action: Human Resources Department
