Summary Explanation/Background:
The City was awarded a matching grant from the State of Florida Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture in the amount of $73,483.00 for Multi-Disciplinary General Program Support for Fiscal Year 2022. At its regular meeting on July 27, 2021, the City Commission granted the City Manager authority during its August 2021 hiatus to perform and finish such matters as may have been budgeted and authorized. The agreement between the City and the State of Florida for this grant award required that it be executed by both parties in August 2021.
In accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement between City and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, approval and ratification of this Resolution will provide additional funding in the amount of $73,483.00 that will be placed in a special account line in the Cultural Affairs Department approved Fiscal Year 2022 budget earmarked for artists and marketing/production fees for the “Pompano Beach Arts Project” as proposed in the grant application submitted by the City and allow funds to be drawn down from the State of Florida for this project.
