Summary:                     

The applicant is seeking approval for a Master Sign Program for the building located at 1347 East Sample Road. Pursuant to §155.2416 of the Pompano Beach Code of Ordinances, multi-tenant developments exceeding 5,000 square feet along designated arterial or collector roads are required to obtain Master Sign Program approval from the Architectural Appearance Committee (AAC) prior to securing a Zoning Compliance Permit.

The property owner secured interior building permits to convert the property into a multi-tenant commercial space for medical offices, requiring Master Sign Program approval before any new building signage can be installed. Proposed signs will consist of individual illuminated channel letters, 5 inches deep made of aluminum with acrylic faces covered in 3M Scotchcal Translucent Vinyl in Blue PMS 2145C and/or Green PMS 2258C. Signs will be mounted on 3-inch-deep aluminum backer panels (wireways) painted MP03340 Grey Fog to match the building façade. Logos may include full-color digital prints or custom metal emblems with push-through elements. Signs can have one or two lines of text, with sizes to match the variations exactly as depicted on the elevations.  Logos may match the text height, and backer panels will be 30 inches tall and 3 inches deep. Total signage is limited to 20% of the tenant’s frontage square footage. The standard font is Trajan Pro, but trademarked or registered custom fonts and logos are allowed.

 

The property is located north of East Sample Road and west of South Federal Highway.

Pursuant to Section 155.2205, Code of Ordinances, the Architectural Appearance Committee may require such changes in plans and specifications as, in its judgment may be requisite and appropriate to ensure that the exterior appearance of buildings and structures enhances the aesthetic character of the surrounding development by complying with the architectural appearance standards of this Code and approved design guidelines.

1.                     The approval of a Sign Code Compliance Permit must be obtained before or concurrently with a building permit for each sign.

2.   The varying sizes of the signs depicted on the West and South Elevation are to be treated as absolute, not as range for future tenant sign sizes.
