summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
In February 2017, the City Commission adopted significant amendments to Chapter 156 (Sign Code). One of the policy changes incorporated within the revision was the deletion of the “Uniform Sign Program,” and deletion of other approvals by the Architectural Appearance Committee (AAC).
The proposed revisions to Chapter 155 include: (1) removing all references to “Sign Permit,” and (2) creating a “Master Sign Program,” which incorporates most of the requirements from the former Uniform Sign Program including AAC approval. The proposed changes establish the process and applicability for the Master Sign Program and add design standards for sign structures. The proposed changes were unanimously approved by the Planning & Zoning Board.
