summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The Utilities Department requests City Commission approval to execute a piggyback agreement with Odyssey Manufacturing Company, utilizing Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) ITB No. 20/21-A5, for the purchase and delivery of sodium hypochlorite, a critical treatment chemical used for potable water disinfection and reuse water production.

The renewed agreement provides for a delivered unit price of $1.60 per gallon, representing a 4.6% increase over the previous contract price, which was deemed reasonable given current market conditions and transportation costs. The agreement will ensure a reliable supply of sodium hypochlorite to maintain uninterrupted treatment operations, regulatory compliance, and the continued delivery of safe potable and reuse water. Funding is available within the Utilities Department's approved operating budget, and expenditures will not exceed appropriated amounts annually. Approval supports the City's commitment to reliable and sustainable utility services.

Origin of request for this action: Utilities

Fiscal impact and source of funding: As-Needed funding for delivery of Sodium Hypochlorite is available in accounts No. 412-3320-533.52-05 and No. 412-3340-533.52-05
