Summary Explanation/Background:

The Development Services Department proposes a text amendment to Chapter 155 to correct scrivener’s errors related to the organization throughout Chapter 155. A review of the Zoning Code has been conducted to check all references within Tables of Contents and Appendices. Several conflicts have been identified as scrivener’s errors and/or as inconsistent with previously approved Ordinances. Please note, no new changes are proposed with this amendment and it is purely corrective.

The updates to the Table of Contents are intended to align the headers for each section with the appropriate headers within the Zoning Code. The updates to Appendix A are intended to align the appendix information with the Use Standards as permitted and defined in Article 4. A Table within the Downtown Pompano Overlay District (Table 155.3708.H.1.a) is proposed to be corrected to show that residential is permitted within the Transit Facilities Use Area, as demonstrated previously on the District’s Principal Uses Regulating Table. Finally, the amendment to the “Abbreviations Used in Principal Use District Tables” (Section 155.4201.E.2) is to correctly reference the "Transit Oriented Overlay" districts, where additional use permissions and standards may be established.

The backup includes the strikethrough/underline format of the relevant code sections. Should the corrections be approved, Staff will provide a final clean/complete version of the appendix for incorporation into the Code of Ordinances (print and digital).
