The documentation in the agenda item back up provides justification to dual name NE 2nd Street “McClellan Street” in honor of Dr George S. McClellan’s contributions to the Pompano Beach Community. The dual naming of the street is bound by N Flagler Avenue on the west and NE 3rd Avenue on the east. The Pompano Beach Historical Society reviewed the application and certified the significant history and contributions to the community of the McClellan Family and recommended approval of the dual naming. The Historic Preservation Committee reviewed the application as well and recommended approval of the dual naming.
If the City Commission decides to dual name NE 2nd Street, a resolution will be presented at a following meeting to formalize the change.
