Summary Explanation/Background:
The City Commission approved Ordinance No. 2019-107 establishing the Live! Resorts Pompano Planned Commercial/Industrial District (PCD) in September 2019 to encourage a mix of employment-generating uses, entertainment uses, and residential units and later approved a PCD Amendment in Ordinance 2021-02 to allow for industrial uses. The Developer is proposing to amend the permitted use list outlined in Exhibit “Q” of the PCD Master Plan to allow two additional light manufacturing uses, “Electric Motor Repair” and “Light Manufacturing, Assembly or Fabrication.” Provided within the backup is the entirety of Ordinance 2021-02 (Live! Resorts Pompano PCD); the amended Exhibit B - Legal Description (which is Exhibit A to the new Ordinance); and the amended Exhibit Q - Permitted Uses Table for the PCD Master Plan (which is Exhibit B to the new Ordinance). The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of these two new uses on June 26, 2024 with a 4-3 vote.
