Summary Explanation/Background:

The Development Services Department is seeking a resolution of the City Commission to enter into an Agreement with the State of Florida Division of Historical Resources (Grant No. S1722).  The City has received a Small Matching Historic Preservation Grant in the amount of $50,000 and will provide a $50,000 match previously approved by City Commission Resolution 2015-314 and accounted for in the FY2017 CIP.

This Agreement is for the execution of the 2016 Small Matching Grant regarding the Phase I renovations of the Blanche Ely House Museum (BEHM). Funding from the grant will be used for renovations including designing and preliminary remodeling.  The City has applied for an additional grant for Phase II of the project. When Phase I and Phase II are complete the facility will be in compliance with ADA standards and have its Certificate of Occupancy changed from a Residence into a Place of Assembly/ Museum.
