AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH AND WATER TAXI OF FORT LAUDERDALE, LLC FOR WATER TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO MAKE NONSUBSTANTIVE AMENDMENTS WITHOUT FURTHER COMMISSION APPROVAL AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FUNDING, AND TO PROVIDE COPIES OF SUCH AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY COMMISSION AND CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Water Taxi Service in Pompano Beach-a sustainable transportation solution connecting Pompano Beach to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fort Lauderdale, and Hollywood. The Pompano Beach Water Taxi is proposed as a component of a regional transportation service that will link the City of Pompano Beach with the neighboring coastal cities of Lighthouse Point to the North and Lauderdale by the Sea, Fort Lauderdale, and Hollywood to the South via the Intracoastal waterway along the east coast through Broward County. The intent is to provide alternate transportation service to points of interest in the City of Pompano Beach through a system of 10 stops, including the Fishing Village restaurants, hotels, the Fisher Family Pier, shops, and the general beach area, and to connect riders with neighboring attractions and amenities. The Water Taxi stops are conveniently located close to the Circuit micro-mobility routes throughout the beach area, and along Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach, a designated transit-oriented corridor.
