Summary Explanation/Background:
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office was awarded an $85,000 grant from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The funding will be used to pay overtime for Pompano Beach Detectives carrying out targeted law enforcement activities in the City. Grant funding can not be used for FICA and fringe benefits. Therefore, in order to utilize the grant, the City will need to pay $38,582 to cover the overtime fringe costs. The City and Sheriff’s Office have entered into similar MOU’s with previous grant awards over the past several years.
