Summary Explanation/Background:
As of May 5, the self-response rate for Pompano Beach for the 2020 Census is 45.2%, which continues to trail behind Broward County (53.2%), and almost ten points from the state of Florida (55.1%) & national rate (57.3%). At the conclusion of the 2010 Census, the final national self-response rate was 72% and only 68% of the forms from Pompano Beach were returned. The Presentation included with the back-up explains why the Census is important, provides information on how to complete the census, and the current outreach efforts of the Local Complete Count Committee.

As of May 5, the self-response rate for the entire city (45.2%) an increase of 2.2% (slightly more than last week). Pompano Beach continues to trail behind Broward County (53.2%), and almost ten points from the state of Florida (55.1%) & national rate (57.3%). The map attached to this email gives a snapshot of the response rate from each census tract in Pompano Beach (based on the data from May 5).
