summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) has presented the draft 2024 Lower East Coast (LEC) Water Supply Plan in February. Within eighteen months of the date of official publication, local government’s water supply plans must be updated and approved by the City Commission. In order to update the water supply plan, the City must conduct a comprehensive water master plan update. This plan will review costs, water demands, current treatment facilities, equipment and the distribution system to make suggestions on operations or capital improvements to ensure current operations and maintenance are able to support the projected water demands for the next 20-years
