summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
The City of Pompano Beach wishes to enter into a Parking License Agreement for the property located adjacent to Southeast 2nd Street on the east side of Briny Avenue in Pompano Beach, Broward County Appraiser Folio 4943 06 06 0120. The property is owned by Hansa and Girish Patel. The City intends to charge a parking fee to the public for the parking spaces contained within this lot with the following considerations. The City will enforce parking within the entire lot consisting of approximately 22-25 parking spaces. The existing sand dune will be relocated by the owner in accordance with City and Florida Department of Environment Protection (State) requirements. For this consideration the City agrees to pay Hansa and Girish a 50/50 revenue split of all net revenues generated monthly. This arrangement would allow the City to provide for additional public parking until such time as the lot is privately developed. The approval of this Agreement is the first step in obtaining a temporary use permit via the Development Services Department and ultimately receiving approval by the State for relocation of the sand dune to the east of the property. City expects to yield a net gain of approximately $15k from this arrangement.

Origin of request for this action: Parking Operations
Fiscal impact and source of funding: 50/50 Revenue Split
