Summary Explanation/Background:

The Applicant is requesting that the City Commission consider entering into an Agreement for Unification of Development, which is related to a proposed site plan application (P&Z: 21-12000026).  The Applicant, U-Haul, seeks approval to construct a new self-storage facility and warehouse at the above referenced location (790 SW 12 Avenue).  The Applicant received a special exception approval to construct a self-storage facility (P&Z: 21-17000005) from the Zoning Board of Appeals at the April 15, 2021 Meeting.  The site plan illustrates a building over the existing SW 10th Avenue and will provide a new driveway on the eastern portion of the property to grant access to the neighbor (820 SW 12 Avenue).  If approved by the City Commission, as part of this agreement, the Applicant will request that the City vacate a portion of SW 10th Avenue, after the Applicant constructs the new private driveway. This agreement is necessary in order for the Applicant to facilitate the private road easement access through the U-Haul site to the southern property (820 SW 12 Avenue).
