Summary Explanation/Background:
Invitation to Bid (ITB) E-27-22 was issued to establish annual open-end contracts for the purchase of mulch for grounds maintenance to be ordered as needed. This solicitation includes dyed recycled wood, Melaleuca, rubber mulch, playground wood chips and wood fiber, delivered and installed. The City of Pompano Beach (City) issued this solicitation as the lead agency for the South Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative, on behalf of the City and twenty (20) other governmental agencies. The primary bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder per item, and alternate bid awards to the remaining responsive and responsible bidders to be used should the material be unavailable from the primary contractors. All awards at the unit prices bid. Based upon the prices bid, and the City's portion of the estimated contract usage, the estimated annual cost to the City of Pompano for mulch is $130,000.00. The contract period is for one (1) year, commencing upon award by the City Commission, with possible contract renewals as stated in the solicitation. City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.
