summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has requested that the City (Airport Sponsor) address a runway safety issue where the existing geometry is not functioning in accordance with Advisory Circulars.  To correct this issue, the CITY will be extending Runway 28 to the east.  As part of the Runway 28 extension project, the CITY will also be performing taxiway modifications to assist with the elimination of runway incursions.  This project was recommended as part of the Airpark Master Plan Update and approved by both FAA and City. The CITY has requested the CONSULTANT to perform design services for the PMP Runway 28 extension and reconfiguration of the taxiway network which serves it.  The design is being funded 100% by the FAA through the CARES Act.

Origin of request for this action: Air Park

Fiscal impact and source of funding: Funding to be provided 100% by FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant.
