summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The City's previous Fire Chief ordered a new Pierce Stock Enforcer 189” PUC Pumper Truck for the Fire Department, and the purchase of the truck was approved in the FY 2025 Capital Outlay budget. The vehicle will replace a currently in-use vehicle scheduled to be taken out of service. This State-of-the-art equipment is critical to maintaining and enhancing our public safety services. The equipment costs $1,098,950, which will be funded through lease financing with TD Bank.

The City will take custody of this essential equipment upon contract approval with Ten-8 Fire & Safety LLC. The acquisition is important in ensuring our fire department has the best tools available to protect our community effectively and efficiently. Staff recommends approval of the purchase to strengthen our fire response capabilities and safeguard the safety of our residents. The vehicle has been brought to Broward County and is ready for delivery to the City upon payment.
