Summary Explanation/Background:
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office obtained a Safe Neighborhoods Grant from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in the amount of $121,000. The funding will be used to pay for overtime services in targeted areas of the City. The Grant does not cover FICA and Special Risk Retirement Costs. Therefore, in order to fully utilize the Grant, the City will need to enter into an MOU with the Sheriff’s Office to pay said costs. The total amount the City will need to pay is $47,787.20.
