Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking City Commission approval of a Resolution to enter into a Joint Partnership Agreement (JPA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This JPA will result in FDOT’s contributing $679,153.00 to the City for work on SR A1A (see Location Map for project limits). The City has successfully participated in several JPA’s with FDOT in the past. And, this is another example of a great opportunity to maximize taxpayers’ dollars leveraging the GO Bond for public funds (grants) and a true partnership with another government agency. The funds will pay for resurfacing work, which is part of the scope of the GO Bond initiative. Staff recommends approval.
