Summary Explanation/Background:

The Office of Housing and Urban Improvement applied for and received a $194,000 competitive grant from the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management, provide residential wind mitigation retrofit improvements to eligible single family homes in Pompano Beach approved by the Division.  Using the State’s guidelines, OHUI will be responsible for the implementation, management, coordination and facilitation of all aspects related to the wind mitigation retrofit projects approved, which will adhere to Florida Statue 553.844 Windstorm Loss Mitigation; Requirement for Roofs and Opening Protection.  The attached resolution authorizes acceptance of the grant and signature of the State’s contract governing use of the funds.
