Summary Explanation/Background:
The proposed multi-year contract with CRS Max Consultants, Inc. includes services to support the City’s participation in the Community Rating System (CRS) program. The Community Rating System (CRS) is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices and the promotion of the flood insurance program. The first year of the contract is more expensive due to the preparation and support required for the CRS Verification Visit. In subsequent years, costs are lower and primarily cover the preparation of annual reports and program maintenance. Maintaining a CRS Class 6 rating, achieved with the support of CRS Max Consultants, Inc., provides a 25% discount on flood insurance premiums for Pompano Beach residents.
