summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
Depending on the level of catastrophic activity, the City of Pompano Beach will enact specific emergency management sections, which could trigger the need for essential goods, including temporary tenting equipment and services. In a collaborative effort, the Purchasing Department, along with the Parks and Recreation Department, put out a request for proposals (RFP T-43-20) for an experienced company to assist with providing temporary tent rentals and canopies in a post disaster situation. At the December 8, Commission Meeting, Jacey Investments, LLC dba Elite Tent Company was approved as the awarded vendor.

The contract is for a term of five (5) years with no renewal option. The fiscal impact is currently unknown, as it will be based on the level of action needed to be taken by the City after each catastrophic activity.

Origin of request for this action: Parks and Recreation Department Staff
Fiscal impact and source of funding: Standby contract with payments to be made from the disaster recovery fund account. For the period of March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, the cost to run the Covid Test Site and Food Distribution Site was approximately $20,000 per month. This amount has been submitted to the County for reimbursement. To date the City has received approximately $187,000 in reimbursements from the County for Food distribution site and is awaiting reimbursement for the COVID test site.
