Summary Explanation/Background:

The purpose of the resolution is to adopt a Capital Improvement Plan as required by City Ordinances.  The Capital Improvement Plan is a five year plan for funding the construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of the City's facilities, infrastructure and equipment.  The Capital Improvement Plan covers Fiscal Years 2017 through 2021 and it is included as an integral part of the general budget of the City of Pompano Beach.

 

The Recommended CIP was distributed to the City Commission in July 2016.  The "Existing Capital Projects" section has remained unchanged.

 

The approval memorandums are attached from the Air Park (Memo #016-02), Golf, Parks and Recreation (Memo #16-10) and Planning and Zoning (Memo #16-042) Advisory Boards.

Fiscal impact and source of funding: Total of $21.9 million for FY 2017: $10.7 million General Capital, $6.2 million Utility Renewal & Replacement Capital, $3.6 million Stormwater Utility Capital and $1.4 million Airpark Capital.
