Summary Explanation/Background:
In FY 2026-2027, the City anticipates receiving an allocation of $1,029,989 in CDBG Funds and $406,142.50 in HOME funds, for a total of $1,436,131.50. There is an additional $405,000 in CDBG Program Income that will be used for a public improvement street paving project in FY 2026-2027.
CDBG and HOME RFPs were reviewed and scored by a subcommittee comprising Suzanne Weiss, Manager, Broward County Homeownership & Repair Section, Housing and Urban Planning Division; Vince Wooten, City of Pompano Beach CRA Housing Inspector; and Karen Santen, Grants Coordinator. Copies of their scoring sheets and the scoring summary sheet are attached. Also attached are their signed Conflict of Interest Statements.
At its March 26, 2026, Public Hearing, the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) heard presentations from prospective CDBG & HOME Public Service applicants to make funding recommendations on the FY 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan. The CDAC subsequently met with OHUI staff at a second public hearing held on June 18, 2026, at which an agreement was reached on the funding recommendations contained in the FY 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan. OHUI requests the approval of the CDAC recommendations and Annual Action Plan so it can be advertised for the required 30-day public comment period and submitted to HUD by the August 16, 2026, filing deadline.
A copy of the CDAC funding recommendation sheet is attached.
