Summary Explanation/Background:

In accordance with Section § 160.04  POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE, the Public Art Committee has the power to make recommendations to the City Commission on art, artist selection and artwork location. The City of Pompano Beach is preparing to complete a mural on the exterior wall of the Bailey Contemporary Arts located at 41 NE 1st St. The project was approved in the Public Art FY 2018 Annual Plan under Resolution # 2018-52.

A Call to Artists was posted August 10, 2017, with a deadline of September 29, 2017. Fifty-six (56) artists submitted applications. At the October 19, 2017 PAC Meeting, the Committee recommended approval of the proposed mural design and Fabio Goncalves as the final artist. Mr. Goncalves will have thirty (30) days to complete the mural.
