Summary Explanation/Background:
As part of the FY 2025 Adopted Budget, staff analyzed Building Inspections permit fee revenues and concluded that a fee reduction was necessary to comply with the requirements of F.S. 553.80. (7)(a). The rate reduction is due, in part, to the increase in volume and/or size of current projects being developed within the City. The proposed reduction in fees will equate to a little over a 1% decrease in the percentage charged to the construction value of projects. The estimated impact of this reduction is $4.1M. A revised fee schedule showing the different tiers can be found in the agenda back-up.
