Summary Explanation/Background:
The City of Pompano Beach as the lead agency was notified by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs (OJP) on October 2, 2018 that our application for the 2018 JAG grant was awarded. OJP has a special condition that we need a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the other 16 participating agencies before we can expend, obligate or drawdown on any funds. The City’s application for this grant was approved and ratified by the City Commission on October 9, 2018.
Origin of request for this action: Finance Department
Fiscal impact and source of funding: Grant award to all 17 jurisdictions in Broward County will be $493,448. The City’s allocation will be $109,709 to be used as follows. $67,071 towards homeless outreach and support and $42,638 toward costs associated with administering the award. There is no matching funds requirement.
