summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The Broward County Traffic Engineering Division (BCTED) performed a traffic signal warrant study in accordance with the guidelines identified in the Federal Highway Administration publication entitled Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The BCTED’s Technical Committee determined that signalization represents the best operational traffic control at the intersection of Dr MLK Boulevard and NW 18th Drive. This item is for professional traffic engineering design and regulatory permitting services for the intersection improvements to fully signalize the intersection of MLK Blvd and NW 18th Drive. Additionally, this scope consists of adding a north bound to east bound right turn lane and removal of the existing adjacent pedestrian signal per County’s assessment.
