Summary Explanation/Background:
We are rescinding the agreement entered into on February 23, via Resolution 2021-64 between the City and Dania Pier Management Corp. for the operation of the City’s Pier. At the City Commission meeting on March 23, the Commission determined they did not want to collect the $2.00 Pier Sightseeing fee. The revenue generated from sightseeing fees were a critical part of the agreement. Therefore, it is appropriate to rescind the agreement. In Order to avoid interruption in operations, the City has entered into a temporary six (6) month service contract with the vendor Dania Pier Management Corp., which will expire in October 2021 while we negotiate a new license agreement.
