Summary Explanation/Background:
School Board of Broward County, Florida - Blanche Ely High School - $33,000 to be used to fund the Internships: Pathways to Employment Program. This program will provide a Program Coordinator to acquire and oversee the successful acquisition of paid internships for 11th and 12th grade students to fulfill National Academy Foundation (NAF) completion requirements and increase student employability after high school. This organization is part of the Non-Profit Community Partnership and Sponsorship Program.

The City of Pompano Beach supports a variety of nonprofit organizations with a special emphasis on those that work to achieve our goals and objectives and highlight our rich cultural make-up as a community, in particular, those that support workforce readiness, education, senior assistance and/or community events; and those that provide services to the community not provided by the City.

Due to the number of requests the City of Pompano Beach receives, these funding priorities are meant to assist organizations in understanding the City's nonprofit focus areas. The proposed project, program, event and/or in-kind donation must focus on one of the four (4) Funding Priorities: Workforce Readiness, Education, Senior Assistance and Community Events.
