Summary Explanation/Background:
Chapter 220, Florida Statutes, provides corporate income tax credits such as the Community Contribution Tax Credit as an incentive to eligible sponsors to donate materials, real property, cash or other physical resources to eligible projects for the construction of affordable housing. The criteria set forth in Statute requires a certification by local government that Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s building projects are consistent with local plans and regulations be included in the application for community contribution tax credits. Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s building program, which provides for the construction of affordable housing for first time owner occupied homeowners in the City of Pompano Beach is consistent with local plans and regulations. The passage of this Resolution will authorize the City Clerk to file said resolution with the State of Florida, Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development of the Executive Office of the Governor to enable Habitat for Humanity of Broward to obtain approval for its projects.
