summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

On October 25, 2022, City Officials approved Resolution 2023-12, authorizing the Utilities Department to accept a $2,882,108 loan from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection under the State Revolving Fund (SRF) for the Non-sewer Area C Project (WW062470). At the time, the project's anticipated completion date was February 2024.

The City secured a $1.1 million grant from FDEP to support private property sewer connections. This new funding prompted a redesign, which also prolonged the permitting process to incorporate the private utility connection improvements.

As a result, the Utilities Department sought an extension via Amendment 1 (Resolution 2024-51), requesting a new project completion date of August 2025. Since the approval of Amendment 1, the final design has been completed, and the project is currently out for competitive bidding.

To ensure adequate time for bid evaluation, contract award, construction, and project closeout, the Utilities Department is now requesting approval of Amendment 2, which would extend the project completion date to February 15, 2027.
