Summary Explanation/Background:
To obtain approval for the Mayor to execute a letter approving the distribution of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program funds in the amount of $432,599 for Broward County to utilize for countywide projects. The focal point of the funds will be utilized for Planning, Evaluation, Technology Improvements (PETI), Juvenile Assistance Center Facility Upgrades and Homeless Outreach Computer Equipment. The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant-County-wide (JAG-C) is a program administered by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and in Florida by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
