Summary Explanation/Background:
The City of Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department will submitt a grant application through Children Services Council of Broward County for Summer Camp Programs.
The grant application will be requesting up to $205,000 in Maximizing Out of School Time (MOST) grant funding to be used to assist with the summer camp programs. If the funds are received they will be used for the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department’s summer camp programs. The grant requires 5% in matching funds; therefore the city’s contribution if the grant is awarded will be in an amount up to $10,500. The matching funds have been approved in the departmental budget. The attached resolution authorizes staff to submit the grant application and authorizes the City Manager to accept the funds if awarded.
