Summary Explanation/Background:
Utilities staff requests consideration by the City Commission of a contract modification for Bid L-53-16, in the amount of $40,805.91 and +28 days of additional contract time. This work is required due to unforeseen circumstances during the installation of flow meters at both the Water and Reuse Plants.
At the Water Plant, the contractor could not get a positive shut off on a 30” valve from 1960 needed to isolate the flowmeter from the distribution main. At the Reuse Plant, it was discovered that that bottom of the manhole was not as shown on the as build drawings. Therefore, a new riser and slab assembly is required in order to properly complete the installation
