summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

In 1998, via Ordinance 98-57, the City Commission adopted the AAC's Supplemental Criteria, which enables the AAC to determine if the design elements of proposed developments would enhance the City and, more specifically, if the City’s desired aesthetics are actualized in the design of the proposed developments. A comprehensive update to the AAC's Supplemental Criteria has been prepared reflecting current terminology and trends in architecture, desired site design, and a greater emphasis on sustainability. The revised Supplemental Criteria was presented to the AAC at their April 28, 2016 and May 26, 2016 hearings (copies of hearing minutes are provided). As evidenced in the minutes from the May 26, 2016 hearing, the AAC unanimously approved the Supplemental Criteria with two conditions. These conditions have been addressed. The CRA submitted a letter dated July 27, 2016 stating they have no objection.
