summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

On September 12, 2023, the City Commission re-approved agenda item #23-706, which allows for the standardized purchase of Neptune equipment through the sole source vendor, Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. This decision had a projected annual fiscal impact of $1 million.

However, the Utilities Department is seeking to increase the fiscal limit for procuring Neptune smart metering equipment and related accessories to $12.2 million, funded by the 2024 Series Water and Sewer Bonds recently issued in December 2024. The Utilities Department plans to make these as-needed purchases of Neptune water meters, parts, and accessories from Ferguson Enterprises, LLC, the sole Florida distributor of equipment from Neptune Technology Group, Inc.

Approval from the City Commission is requested to issue these purchase orders.

Origin of request for this action: Utilities
