summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

Staff is seeking City Commission approval of a Resolution to enter into four (4) lighting agreements (see Highlands Phases 2, 3, 4, and 5 agreements) with the Florida Power & Light (FPL). These agreements will allow FPL to install necessary cabling and light fixtures to replace and supplement lighting coverage in The Highlands (see Location Map). FPL will remove 591 units. Furthermore, FPL will install a grand total of 728 new LED light fixtures (Holophane Memphis), a decorative model similar to those adopted in other parts of the City. This will result in a net gain of 137 fixtures. This item was identified as a viable initiative in the GO Bond Lighting Conversion Program and funding was expressly set aside to pay up-front costs of installation and materials.
