summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
The Pompano Beach Boys & Girls Club (Thomas D. Stephanis Unit) has requested $250,000 from the City of Pompano Beach from the City's American Rescue Plan Act grant funding to assist with ongoing renovation improvement projects at the facility. The Stephanis Unit is one of the oldest Boys & Girls Clubs in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County's (BGCBC) footprint. This Club was established in 1976, serving thousands of "at-risk" youth for the past 5 decades providing hope and opportunity for generations of young people. The geographic area members served by the organization primarily come from Sanders Park Elementary, Markham Elementary, Pompano Beach Elementary, Pompano Beach Middle and Ely High School and the surrounding area of the Club location which is 212 NW I 6th Street, Pompano Beach, Fl 33060. Traditionally, those members that attend from their homes live within 3 miles of the Club.

The BGCBC has secured a $250,000 donation from an Angel Investor. The Angel Investors contribution will go to increasing the square footage for the Teen Population at the Club (see Exhibit A to the Subrecipient Agreement for planned improvements).
