Summary Explanation/Background:
The Applicant is requesting to change the entitlements for the 65 net acre John Knox Village Local Activity Center (LAC) land use district in preparation for approval of a new proposed master plan for this senior-serving community. The change to the Land Use entitlements will allow more office, less retail and will remove the unit types previously specified for the residential units. The total number of residential units will remain the same. The impact of these changes on the City’s infrastructure capacity is negligible. The Planning & Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval at the June 3rd 2020 P&Z meeting.
The Broward County Commission unanimously approved the amendment to the County Land Use Plan on February 23, 2021.
