Summary Explanation/Background:

Invitation to Bid (ITB) E-33-22 was issued to obtain bids to establish a contract to furnish and install a new complete stormwater collection system, reconstruction of the project roadways, swales, new landscape planting material, signage and thermoplastic pavement markings located between NW 1st Ave (East boundary), NW 5th Terrace (West boundary), NW 21st Street (North boundary) and NW 16th Court (South boundary), in Pompano Beach, Florida. This work is required to improve surface water runoff and collection to provide safe passage of pedestrian and vehicular traffic throughout the area.  The General Services Department notified twenty-five (25) local Pompano Beach companies of this ITB.  Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive and lowest responsible bidder, Man-Con, Incorporated, at a cost of $5,165,106.15.  City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.

 

Origin of request for this action: Staff

Fiscal impact and source of funding: $1,868,311.15 of the project will be funded from SRF Loan and $3,296,795.00 from Broward County Surtax funds.
