summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

One of the recommendations that resulted from the evaluation of the in lieu of fee for affordable housing is to require the use of  Broward County mixed income density bonus policies 2.16.3 and 2.16.4 to include the Downtown and ETOC.  This has two benefits, it reduces the expectation of an affordable housing buyout and increases the number of affordable units built while also reducing the number of units taken from the limited basket of rights related to these two transit oriented districts. The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of the related zoning code changes on June 28, 2023.
