summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
Subject lease is between the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Pompano Beach for submerged land located at Hillsboro Inlet Marina. This lease renewal is for 5 years, expiring November 2, 2022. The terms of the agreement allows for the use of property which includes a 16-slip boat docking facility, an 800 SF bait and tackle shop, and a 30,000 SF city parking lot. On an annual basis, the City is required to pay the State a fee of $3,688.44 or 6% of total wet slip rental generated revenue, whichever is greater. Since none of the 16 slips are available for rent to the public, the city pays local prevailing market rates for similar boat slip facilities. The past 3 years the annual lease cost to the City has averaged $11,548. This lease renew renewal requires that the City pay a $648.00 one-time processing fee to the State of Florida.
