Summary Explanation/Background:
In FY 2023-2024 the City anticipates receiving an allocation of $1,028,677 in CDBG Funds and $508,172 in HOME funds, for a total of $1,536,849.
CDBG and HOME RFP's were reviewed and scored by a sub-committee comprised of Suzanne Fejes, Assistant Director of the Broward County Resilient Environmental Department Housing Finance Division, Vince Wooten, City of Pompano Beach CRA Housing Inspector, and Glenda Martinez, Community Services Manager Town of Davie. A copy of their individual scoring sheets and the scoring summary sheet is attached. Also attached are their signed Conflict of Interest Statements.
At its March 16, 2023 Public Hearing, the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) heard presentation from prospective CDBG & HOME Public Service applicants in order to make their funding recommendations as part of the FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan. The CDAC subsequently met with OHUI staff in a second Public hearing held on June 1, 2023, at which time an agreement was reached on the funding recommendations contained in the FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan.
OHUI is requesting the approval of the CDAC recommendations and Annual Action Plan so it can be advertised for the required 30-day public comment period and submitted to HUD by the August 16, 2023 filing deadline.
